Pre-Meeting Excursion Invitation from Dr. Cohen
Dear ACL Study Group Members and Invited Guests,
I would like to invite you to the Pre-Meeting Excursion taking place at the Fairmont Copacabana
in Rio de Janeiro on January 30-February 1, 2026. This will be Carnaval time in Brazil, the biggest and the best popular party worldwide!
Located on one of the most iconic beaches in the world, the Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana
offers an unparalleled experience. This five-star hotel combines classic sophistication with the relaxed charm of Rio de Janeiro, providing guests with a memorable stay.
With stunning views of Sugarloaf Mountain and Copacabana Beach, the Fairmont is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the best the city has to offer.
Rio de Janeiro is one of the most iconic cities in Brazil and the world. Known for its vibrant culture, natural beauty, and infectious joy,
Rio is a destination that captivates tourists from all over the globe. Rio de Janeiro is famous for its stunning landscapes.
The city is surrounded by mountains and bathed by the sea, creating unique scenery.
Arrival and hotel check is on January 30, 2026, followed by a delightful dinner at the elegant Marine Resto,
located at the Fairmont Hotel.
On the early morning of January 31, we will depart for a private breakfast at Sugar Loaf Mountain.
After we will enjoy the wonderful and exclusive Carnival Experience. This private tour includes a percussion and dance workshop,
as well as a pocket show with 4 samba dancers, 8 percussionists, and a master of ceremonies and flag bearer.
After we enjoy an authentic Brazilian barbecue lunch at Assador Rio’s,
we will visit the famous CORCOVADO and return to the hotel for a stroll on the beach.
Dinner will be at Aprazivel Restaurant which offers authentic, flavorful, and wholesome food, made with mostly organic, traceable ingredients.
In addition to its culinary excellence, the restaurant provides a unique experience in a stunning setting, with a breathtaking view.
Departure and private transfer to the airport is on February 1.
