Orthopaedic surgeon, sports medicine expert, researcher, pioneer, bringing innovative solutions and out-of-the-box ideas to the medical practice, and a teacher. Focuses on long-term outcomes and holistic, interdisciplinary approach. Continuously assesses own work, learning from wins and losses, as well as ongoing research to be better and share observations for others to learn and do better. Expertly manages small and large teams. Built successful medical and educational enterprises from the scratch. Individualist and forward-thinker in views and approach, team player when it comes to treating patients, leader creating conditions for his staff and colleagues enabling them to grow on both professional as well as personal level. Active member of several expert groups and societies, such as: ACL Study Group, AGA, ESSKA, ISAKOS, UASTKA, GOTS, and more. Published many papers and several book chapters. In 2024 published a comprehensive volume on Surgical Anatomy and Exposures of the Knee, written jointly with Prof. Bertram Zarins, Chief Emeritus Sports Medicine Service Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at MGH and Augustus Thorndike Clinical Professor at Harvard Medical School. Enjoys taking up new projects, solving problems, and tinkering already as a child. An optimist even at the worst times, always looking for a solution. Passionate about sports, history, and music. Plays a saxophone whenever has a chance. Curious about the world, brings science and art together through unique anatomical photography known around the world from numerous lectures delivered over the years
