Dr Barenius has worked most of his professionalism life at Södersjukhuset a large universitet hospital affiliated with Karolinska institutet. He is a Knee surgeon with special interest in Knee dislocations with multiligament injuries. His research has mainly been on ACL and meniscus injuries and some collaboration with preclinical cartilage research and fracture research. He is an associate Professor of Orthopaedic surgery at Karolinska Institutet and a Member of the editorial board of the American journal of sport medicin.
