Christophe Hulet (Professor, MD, PhD) has been a University Professor and Hospital Practitioner (PUPH) in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at Caen University Hospital, Normandy, University of Normandy since 2002.
He has been Head of the Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Department since 2009. He has been classified as exceptional since 2022. He is Vice-President of the CME (Medical Council) at Caen University Hospital. He is Regional and Inter-Regional Head of Teaching for the DES in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, and University Head of the GCS Main (SOS Main and FESUM). He is an active member of the G4, which brings together Lille, Caen, Rouen and Amines. He holds a research supervisor accreditation and has completed a Research Fellowship at Rush Presbyterian Medical Centre in Chicago, USA.
He has also been a John Insall Travelling Fellow since 2003 and was the first French recipient of this award.
He is also a member of the INSERM UMR-S 1075 COMETE unit ‘Mobility: Attention, Orientation & Chronobiology’ at Normandy University UNICAEN. He has been ORTHORISQ accredited since 2009. He is a member of the CNU section 50-02.
He is a full member of the National Academy of Surgery.
He is a member of the French College of Orthopaedic Surgeons (CFCOT), SOFCOT, the Francophone Arthroscopy Society (SFA), the French Hip and Knee Society (SFHG), SOO (Société Orthopédie Ouest), AFCA (French Association of Ambulatory Surgery), ESSKA (European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy), ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine), ICRS (The International Cartilage Repair Society), and the ACL Study Group.
He was President of the SFA from 2009 to 2011, Chairman of the ESSKA PARIS 2022 Scientific Programm, President of the SOO in 2023, and President-elect of SOFCOT in 2026. He has published more than 150 articles and/or book chapters on degenerative and sports surgery of the lower limbs, particularly in the field of knee and hip arthroplasty and menisco-ligament pathology, but also on the biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system.
