Daisuke Araki is currently the director of the Sports Medicine Center at Hyogo Prefectural Rehabilitation Center Hospital. He received his MD degree in 2003, followed by residency training at Kobe University Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program, and his PhD degree in 2011, and worked as an international research fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Orthopaedic Surgery from 2012-14. He then joined the faculty at Kobe University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and has been in his current position since 2021. He is currently the chief team physician for the Japanese men's national volleyball team and is also a member of the medical commission of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and an honorary member of the medical committee of the Asian Volleyball Confederation.
