The Knee Institute, Sydney St Leonards, NSW AUSTRALIA Dr Brett Fritsch is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises exclusively in Knee surgery. He has particular interest in ligament reconstruction and knee replacement surgery, and in utilizing the latest technology such as computer navigation, personalized surgical instruments, and robotics. Brett has a busy clinical practice in central Sydney, combined with a research interest and a technology innovation business. He is a Director of the Sydney Orthopaedic Research Institute, and the Research lead for the Orthopaedics Robotics program at the Institute for Academic Surgery at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He is an active member of numerous national and international knee surgery organisations and is the current co-chairman of the Knee Sports and Preservation Committee for the International Society of Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). Brett has published extensively in the field of knee surgery and is a reviewer for several international orthopaedic journals including the AJSM, the Bone and Joint Journal (BJJ), and The Knee. Brett completed his Orthopaedic training in Sydney before being selected for fellowships in Sports Surgery at Duke University, North Carolina, USA and Advanced Arthroscopy at the Alps Surgical Institute in Annecy France. He has a background as an elite level sportsman which stimulated his interest in techniques for returning all patients to their recreational and occupational activity of choice, with the aim to restore and prolong a lifetime of activity.
