Mandelbaum, M.D., D.H.L (Hon.) is among the world's foremost experts in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic conditions, especially those related to the knee and orthobiologics. He practices at, and serves as, Vice-Chairman Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and Professor Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Cedars-Sinai as well as Co-Director of the Regenerative Orthobiologic Center at Cedars-Sinai, Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Mandelbaum received his medical degree from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, MO. He went on to complete his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Sports Medicine from UCLA, where he also served as a faculty member before going into practice where he has and continue to focus on a spectrum of professional, elite, youth and recreational athletes and return to sport. He currently is a team physician for the LA Galaxy and Pepperdine University. In addition, he has been team physician or medical officer for 9 FIFA World Cups and 6 Olympic Games and will be team physician for the USA for the FIFA World Cup 2026. He is also the associate chief medical officer for Major League Soccer and recently appointed as US Soccer’s Chief Medical Officer. He is also the Medical Director for the Cedars Sinia Los Angeles FIFA Medical Center of Excellence.
