Dr. Amit Meena is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in knee surgery. He is currently a consultant orthopedic surgeon at Shalby Hospital, Jaipur, with a special focus on joint replacement and complex ligament reconstruction. He is also the founder of KNEECARES—The Superspeciality Knee Clinic, Jaipur, India.
Dr. Amit completed his orthopaedic residency at the Central Institute of Orthopaedics, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, one of India’s largest orthopaedic centers. He then pursued advanced training at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute, Bologna, Italy, under the mentorship of Prof. Stefano Zaffagnini, focusing on knee surgery, knee replacements, and complex ligament injuries. Further refining his expertise, he trained at Gelenkpunkt – Sports and Joint Surgery, FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence, Innsbruck, Austria, working alongside Prof. Christian Fink and Dr. Christian Hoser.
His journey continued in North America at Western University, Ontario, Canada, where he worked with Dr. Alan Getgood, gaining expertise in the management of complex knee disorders.
A prolific researcher and author, Dr. Amit has published over 60 studies in leading orthopaedic journals and textbooks. He serves as a manuscript reviewer for JBJS, AJSM, CORR, ARTHROSCOPY, KSSTA, JEO, OJSM, and JISAKOS. Recognized for his contributions, he was awarded Best Reviewer of the Year for JEO (ESSKA’s official journal) and was a finalist for the John J. Joyce and Paolo Aglietti Awards (ISAKOS Congress 2023, Boston, USA).
Dr. Amit is an invited speaker at prestigious international conferences, delivering multiple lectures on knee surgery and orthopaedic advancements. He was selected as an ISAKOS Global Traveling Fellow (2023–2025) to represent Asia Pacific in 2025. He is an active member of renowned orthopaedic organizations, including ISAKOS, ESSKA, APKASS, and the Magellan Society.
