Dr. Andre Giardino is a knee surgeon at the Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology, University of São Paulo, Brazil. He is a member of the Brazilian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SBOT), the Brazilian Society of Knee Surgery (SBCJ), the Brazilian Society of Sports Trauma (SBRATE), the Latin American Society of Arthroscopy, Knee, and Sports (Sociedad Latinoamericana de Artroscopia, Rodilla y Deporte - SLARD), and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS).
Dr. Andre Giardino performs approximately 80 ACL reconstructions annually and has been actively involved in research on ACL reconstruction. He is currently pursuing a PhD, conducting a prospective randomized clinical trial comparing the use of peroneus longus tendon grafts with hamstring grafts for primary ACL reconstruction, funded by a grant from ISAKOS. Additionally, Dr. Giardino has contributed to several published studies and is involved in numerous ongoing research projects at the University of Sao Paulo.
