Marshall University Scott Depot, wv UNITED STATES Dr. Chad Lavender is an orthopedic surgeon at Marshall Health and an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. He specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and joint preservation, with a focus on innovative, minimally invasive techniques that improve outcomes and reduce recovery times for patients. Dr. Lavender is internationally recognized for pioneering the lavender technique for ACL reconstruction using biologic augmentation, including BMAC (Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate) and suture tape augmentation. His work has advanced the field of regenerative orthopedics and has been featured in peer-reviewed publications and national presentations. He is passionate about research and education, mentoring medical students and residents while also contributing to the development of new orthopedic technologies and biologic applications. As a former athlete, Dr. Lavender brings a personal understanding of sports injuries and a deep commitment to helping athletes return to play safely and efficiently.
