Dr. Gregory S. DiFelice is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Traumatology and Joint Reconstruction Surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.  He holds an academic appointment at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University as an Associate Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon. His main surgical focus is on the treatment of the knee, shoulder, and hip. Using both non-surgical and surgical approaches, he incorporates the latest technologies to enhance patient outcomes while prioritizing preservation of native tissue . His customized Preservation First® approach guides his practice, emphasizing injury-specific, patient-centered treatment strategies. Nearly two decades ago, he introduced the concept of selective, arthroscopic ACL primary repair, which remains a cornerstone of his clinical work and research. He and his team have contributed significantly to the field, publishing over 100 scientific, peer-review articles on ligament preservation.
