He is a member of the SBOT (Brazilian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology), the Brazilian Society of Knee Surgery (SBCJ) and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). He obtained first place in the National Exam for Obtaining the Title of Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology of the SBOT at the 37th Title of Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2008. He also obtained first place in the National Exam for Obtaining the Title of the SBCJ at the 13th Brazilian Congress of Knee Surgery in 2010. He received the award for best scientific work at the bi-annual Brazilian Congresses of Knee Surgery of the SBCJ in 2012, 2014, 2018, 2021 and 2024. He also received awards for best scientific works at the Brazilian Congresses of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the SBOT in 2014 and 2015. In addition to these awards, he has more than 50 works presented at national and international congresses. With more than 50 articles published in international journals, his main line of research is called “models for assessing and treating changes in the musculoskeletal system”. This line is studied at the Post-Graduation Program of the Federal University of São Paulo where Dr Carlos Franciozi is an Advisor Professor. With a focus on surgical treatment of knee injuries and innovations related to this area, he has vast experience in the management of complex knee injuries, with national and international recognition, treating everyone from high-performance professional athletes to sedentary patients, being an enthusiastic surgeon in the study and treatment of ligament injuries, such as the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and multi-ligament knee injuries, meniscal injuries, prioritizing meniscus repair and reestablishment of their functions, cartilage injuries, osteoarthritis and knee prostheses, as well as patellofemoral conditions such as patellar dislocation and chondromalacia. He is the Founder and CEO of the EPO Group, a company responsible for treating 20,000 orthopedic patients per month and performing 1200 orthopedic surgeries per month. In addition to medical care, the EPO Group also provides orthopedic education to doctors, residents, medical students and postgraduates, as well as conducting multicenter scientific research involving the various hospitals in which it operates, always seeking the best results for its patients.
